quick update 2 days before we leave

hey all.
we've had a crazy morning today. we had to post a package with heavy stuff, and as some of us expected it has turned into high drama!! but we've had a great time over the last few days we stopped at dads cousins one night and they were really nice, then the next night we were at different cousins again, and that evening we had dinner with more family and that was a great evening! i even got to see and sit in Peter's (dads cousins husband's) 1925 Bugatti - WOW! :DDD

we're spending the night at this average hotel down the road from Kings Cross station and then we're near the airport on sunday night

today we're going to go on the london eye (but that looks less and less like its going to happen) then in the arvo we'll meet up with our neighbours son who is taking me and keith out for a couple of hours!!

then tomorrow we hope to go to madam tousards wax works, but thats only if we can leave our bags at the hotel, and that doesnt look like its likely to happen either, so otheerwise we'll catch a taxi/tube to the airport hotel and get a set of scales and try to get out bags down to 20kg each. that will be fun, coz dad;s bag with all the souvineers weighs ~30kg!!

we get back on tuesday night, and look forward to seeing you all then!

Scotland was great fun!!

Well! what a week we have had!
we caught the train from Kings Cross Station (yep! the one where the Harry Potter Movies were filmed/set). we spent 4 hours on the train then got off at Ednburgh.

The next day we toured around Edinburgh and saw the sights, then went to Edinburgh Castle. and made our way down 'the Royal Mile' which is a street that runs between the Castle and Parliment House.

The next day we were off on another tour, this tome to an island called Skye. Along the way on the 3 day tour we saw many sights, including Duane Castle where the Monty Pythons and The Holy Grail was filmed, the Fairy Glen where there are 356 Mounds that are made in the strangest way (wont explain here - its confusing!), Kilt Rock, Dunvgan Castle which is the home to the clan MacPherson which is home to the 'Fairy Flag' (again, i can exlain that when i get back - it has a good story!) then Dun Beag Brock which was an old hill top fort, and this gave a great view to the Cullin Mountain range and to Sgurr Alisdair.
we then headed back on the return trip to edinburgh and along the way we stopped at Eilean Donan Castle which mum explained to me that it was famous for being famous, the Loch Ness but no sign of the monster and then arrived in the city in the evening.

We spent the next day seeing the sights of the city, then yesterday we caught the train to Darlington where we are staying at my nanas friends place.

We have had a really nice and quiet day which hgas been a nice change from flying around!

We're having great fun, but i will be glad to be home! I could really do with a holiday after this! :P

Update from the West of England

Well, i have found a computer and spare few minutes, so i thought I'd fill you in on the happenings!
the last 2 weeks we were in Europe, where we all had a fantastic time! met lots of people, took lots of photos and bought several postcards!
we got back on Friday afternoon and walked to a hotel near paddington station and after climbing ~100 stairs went to sleep! then the next morning we were up down that stairs and on the train at 10.30 and headed for Bath, in the west of England (for those of you playing at home, that's near Bristol) were we hired a car and drove to wells (about an hours drive), and set up shop at this fantastic B&B.
we met up with mums church choir director who loves this place and suggested it to us, and have spent a few slightly chilly but entertaining days here. we had dinner last night at the pub where a lot of the scenes of hot fuzz was filmed, and that has been fun looking round for locations around this little village where other scenes might have been shot!
we're heading off this morning back to London, and then we'll spend the next few days in London seeing the sights, then head up north (yes, its going to be coooold!) to Scotland by train, spend a few days up and around there, then work our way down the east coast when we will spend a day or two in London then head home
got to go now - i haven't packed my bag :P

We're still alive!

i haven't blogged in a while!
yea, we have been out when i would have done it.
the other day (Wednesday) we went on a bus tour to Windsor castle, Stone Henge and the Roman Baths in Bath (lol, how aptly named). that was great fun!
then Thursday, we split up, and mum and i sent past the shops, and then we met up with Keith and dad at the science museum. we then had a really nice pub dinner.
yesterday we walked indirectly to Westminster abbey, and that was quite cool! we did something else before hand, but i don't remember (cant have been that important :P) - Oh! saw big Ben!
and today we walked through Hyde park, then dad and i went past the royal Albert hall (its a music thing - world famous), then we went to BP house, which was kinda a shrine to Baden Powell (scouts), then we came home.
we had a notably quiet day coz we are prolly going to be up at 3 or 4 so we can leave and be down the street to where our tour leaves for Europe - at 5AM!!!!!
we're all ok over here, and having heaps of fun! I'm pretty well over the jet lag, coz i woke up at 7.30 this morning.
that's about all i have, and i don't know when I'll blog next coz i don't know if i will be able to find any English Internet places in Europe. anywho, see you ll soon!

Day 2

today was great fun! i was awake at 4am and in return i'm getting tired now.
we had a really nice breakfast at the hotel restraunt, then headed out for another day of exploring. we started out by heading to Buckinghm palace to see the changing of the guard. that was good fun, except for the on-off drizle. after that we went to harrods and then went to the museum of london. it was massssive!!! we only spent 40 mins there coz it was late and mum and i only saw half of the first floor! we got some great pics and i'll put them up when i find an internet cafe that likes my camera. most noteably was this collumn that went 3/4 of the way to the roof - and that was the bottom half!! anywho, i'm really tired and my feet hurt, so i'm going home to bed!
cya's all tomorrow (actually maybe not coz we have a tour and we might get home late)
oh, and its about 4 days till the trip to the continent! i'm really looking forward to it!

MH Flight 2 has arrived safely

OK, so maybe i made those details up, but we got here safely this morning - but we've been up since about 3 when we had breakfast (that's London local time) and on our arrival we found out i rooms weren't properly booked, but this is all being fixed and we're all really tired!
we rocked up to the hotel in the shuttle bus at about 8 and left the hotel at 9 and went exploring! the temperature wasn't too bad today either! well, it was bearable but when the wind blew we really felt it! we walked to the famous oxford street (no, not like the Sydney oxford st) and did some misc shopping. we then walked to Piccadilly circus (no, not a clowns and elephants circus) then saw Buckingham palace and went back to the hotel! we bought these really nice sandwiches (the one you suggested Sonya) and had them back in the hotel - oh! its quite swanky!!
anywho, I'm going to leave it and go to bed now - its just gone 6pm, the suns been down for a bit over an hour and I'm really jet lagged! - sooooo tired!
i was hoping to put some pics up, but the computer at the Internet cafe wouldn't find the camera, so I'll try this other one tomorrow or something
but the important thing is that we're all here, safe and sound asleep!
oh, the other thing is i have British computers!!!!
